The Secret Sauce Behind House of Sacci’s Award-Winning Cannabis
Step inside our Greenhouse located right outside of Buffalo, New York
What do you get when you combine a 40,000 sq. ft. climate-controlled greenhouse, a terp-obsessed cultivation team, and a zero-tolerance policy for mid-grade weed?
You get House of Sacci — and we’re just getting started.
From snagging 3rd place at the 2025 Headstash Bowl (Trop Cherry – flower) and 2nd place at the 2024 Solventless Cup (Trop Cherry – kief), to 1st place at the 2024 Long Island Cannabis Cup (Airmail – indica), our strains don’t just talk—they place.
We don’t grow for trophies.
We grow for you—the seasoned smoker, the curious connoisseur, and anyone in New York who refuses to settle for subpar flower.
Inside the Grow: No Shortcuts
We don’t believe in good-enough weed. Everything we do is in service of full flavor, clean smoke, and dialed-in effects. That starts in the greenhouse. Here’s what makes our process stand out:
💡 Year-round optimized lighting
🌡️ Climate-controlled rooms
🌀 Precision drying at 60°F and 60% RH
✂️ Hand-trimming to preserve every trichome
🍷 Slow curing — no corners cut, ever
It’s more time, more care, and yes—more work. But you’ll taste the difference.

HOUSE OF SACCI TROP CHERRY KIEF: 2024 SOLVENTLESS CUP 2ND PLACE WINNER
🍒 Trop Cherry: Our Double-Winning Champ
Trop Cherry doesn’t just smell like a citrus cocktail — it competes like one too. Its distinct citrus-cherry aroma and euphoric, uplifting effect are a direct result of how it’s grown: slow-dried, hand-trimmed, and dialed in for terpene preservation. It’s one of the rare strains that’s proven its strength in multiple forms:
🥉 3rd Place (Flower) – 2025 Headstash Bowl
🥈 2nd Place (Kief) – 2024 Solventless Cup
For its kief, House of Sacci takes a dry-sift approach — gently collecting trichomes from the cured flower to produce a clean, terpene-rich product that wowed solventless judges.

✈️ Airmail: Our 1st Place Winner
Expect gassy aroma, deep relaxation, and the rare “I’m-chill-but-still-social” kind of indica vibe. We gave Airmail the kind of TLC that makes the terps pop and the judges nod “yessir.”
🥇 Airmail: 1st Place – 2024 Long Island Cannabis Cup
Airmail, a Gary Payton x Zwish indica bred by Umami, brings rare balance to the table: think rich gas, mental clarity, and cozy body vibes. Earning 1st place at the 2024 Long Island Cannabis Cup — no small feat for a category full of fan-favorites, it’s easy to see (and smell) why Airmail took home the top prize.

🟣 Not all Permanent Marker is Created Equal.
You’ve probably seen it before—but not like this. Permanent Marker, Leafly’s 2023 Strain of the Year, is one of House of Sacci’s staples — but don’t assume it’s like every other PM on the shelf.
🥇Permanent Marker: Leafly’s 2023 Strain of the Year
House of Sacci’s version is grown from a top-tier pheno with that signature “marker ink” funk and purple-frosted structure. Grown in the same high-control, low-stress greenhouse environment, it holds up to the hype — and then some.
When Leafly named Permanent Marker the 2023 Strain of the Year, we weren’t surprised.
🏆 What We’ve Learned About Cannabis Competitions:
In these contests, a winning entry often has a distinctive terpene profile that leaps out at the judges and a texture/quality that shows it was handled with care.
The Headstash Bowl (NY), is a community-driven connoisseur competition that welcomes everyone from multi-state licensed brands to legacy homegrowers.
The Solventless Cup is focused on solventless products (hash, rosin, kief, etc.).
The Long Island Cannabis Cup was a bit more like a classic “cannabis cup” competition. With Airmail taking 1st Place, the judges were likely looking at overall enjoyment and impact – how good does the sample look, smell, taste, and how well does it deliver the desired effects for that category.
Leafly’s Strain of the Year is a different beast because it’s not a competition you enter; it’s an honor bestowed based on data and expert curation. Leafly’s team looks at market impact, popularity growth, and trendiness of strains nationwide.
Great flower entries have loud terpenes and a clean burn; great extracts have purity and intense flavor; innovative products have to function well and offer something new. And across the board, judges appreciate balance – a sample that maybe isn’t the absolute strongest in THC but offers a superb flavor and a long-lasting, pleasant effect often beats a higher-testing sample that’s one-dimensional.
💨 Fixated on THC: Let’s Talk Quality Cannabis
How to determine quality:
High-quality flower will often be appealing: buds that are frosty with trichomes and have some structure and stickiness; you generally want to see vibrant hues.
Good cannabis that was grown and cured well will have a strong, nuanced smell.
Quality buds are typically hand-trimmed for maximum terpene preservation.
Thus, we suggest looking beyond just THC%.
For example, two strains might both be 25% THC, but if one has a terpene profile rich in say, limonene and pinene, and the other is mostly myrcene, your experience will differ. Think of it like choosing wine – you wouldn’t just buy the one with the highest alcohol; you’d want to know the flavor notes and grape variety. Cannabis is similar. You could have a big jug of bargain wine, but a smaller bottle of artisanal wine from a specific vineyard will likely give you a far better experience. With cannabis, a premium flower may cost a bit more, but you often end up using less of it to reach the desired effect.
Quality also matters for health and comfort. Premium growers flush out nutrients properly and dry/cure well, so the smoke is smoother, so less coughing, fewer headaches, and no nasty chemical or grassy taste. As a consumer and a dispensary, you have the power to “vote with your dollar” for the kind of cannabis culture you want – one that values premium quality and the rich complexity of this plant.
🎨 With our first Premium Cannabis Vape, we went big: Zour Patch Kidz (ZPK)
Yes, we do flower. But when we decided to launch our first 2-gram vape, we went big — in every way, via a creative collab with Private Art Consulting and Brooklyn artist Kque.
Size: 2 grams, packing four times the oil of most others.
Potency: 92% THC and 97% total cannabinoids (TAC), achieved by using clean CO2 and ethanol extraction methods.
Anti-clog tech: We eliminated common vape issues (thanks to the multi-temp and anti-clog re-heating abilities).
Sweet-and-sour flavor
It’s called ZPK and it’s proof that premium oil doesn’t have to be boring. This was a creative project, so when you hold the ZPK vape, it feels special, due to its happy packaging and included sticker, which features Kque’s artwork. You’ve got this bright, colorful design and a cool backstory, on top of an excellent oil.
Available now at select dispensaries.
🗽 So What’s Next?
As we expand across the state — now in more than ⅓ of all dispensaries statewide — we’re keeping our standards high (literally and figuratively). Whether you’re in Buffalo, Brooklyn, or the Bronx, you can expect the same level of care in every jar, every eighth, and every puff. New York deserves better cannabis. And House of Sacci is here to grow it.
